With the applying of the developing the western region ,more and more construction work is building in the loess area, but the stability of slope surface is a serious problem .Because loess slope surface always exposures in nature ,it make unstable under the all kinds of natural conditions, especially the erosion of water, and come into gully, cave, hydroconsolidation of slope surface, small of collapse and slough and so on. It continues evolution that result in the destruction of slope, therefore it's important that research the influence factor and prevention strategies of the stability of slope surface. On the basis of a large amount of work that forefathers have done, the scientific research projects of Ministry of Communications that this text "survey the collapsibility dark cave technical research of loess" through participating in the western traffic, have carried on researching the slope surface in the loess areas and dissected its influence factor and prevention strategies.First of all, by look into the large areas the main model of the destruction of slope surface is popping, cave, slope surface erosion, hydroconsolidation of slope surface, small of collapse and slough and so on. Meanwhile this paper studies the reason of the destruction is relationship with the composition character, structure, permeability, disintegration, collapsibility and erosion resistance of loess through the experimentation, strong disintegration . small permeability, strong collapsibility and small erosion resistance may result in destruction of slope surface.Secondly, the paper consider stability of slope surface is relationship with the shape of the slope by research and theoretical analysis. There is a critical gradient under the rain, when the grade of slope access to critical gradient , destruction of the slope surface is more serious, it's far from critical gradient is more stability. For the present critical gradient is usually a quantum, and carry on a large of research that aim for nature slope, however research about artificial slope is little. The paper studies that it is functional relationship with physical mechanics, slope height and prevention strategies by sediment mechanics and energy conservation.Finally, on the basis of synthetic analysis, the paper expounds the prevention strategies of destruction of slope surface. Mostly it is justified design of slope, befittinggradient is come up to stability not only slope but also slope surface, that is : a 优2< a 优 < a 优1. Subsenquently it is justified that adopt plant protection and works protection. At the same time efifectual drainage system can diminish destruction of slope surface. As an example, The loess slopes of Tong-Huang high way is used to prove that method is valid. At the same time ,the suggestion about designating loess slope that lies in Tong-Huang high way is put forward.
