Because of the no complete flexibility of the earth's surface medium, the Rayleigh Wave velocity that spread in it changes with frequency. This kind of phenomenon is called the dispersion phenomenon of the Rayleigh Wave. So, making use of the dispersion characteristic of the Rayleigh Wave, the variety of the property and structure that underground medium could be opened out.At base of the theories analysis at the Rayleigh Wave and the work with people of the past, Rayleigh wave dispersion function in multi-layer medium is educed. And Knopoff fast algorithm is improved by normalized method and the method of thinning one layer. There, high frequency numeral overflowing, valid number losing, low upper limit frequency that existed in forward computing for Rayleigh Wave dispersion has been resolved, and it has increased the upper frequency to 800Hz. Then, at the foundation of the forward, adopting the inversion fitting technology of using adaptive iterative damping least square, the author has computed in inversion with several theoretical geology models, and analyzed the result. At last, according to the data of the surface wave explore in the actual shallow surface layer, a calculation of inversion has been carried on. The relation model of the dispersion characteristic and the related rock soil mechanics parameter has been built up, and the vertical and horizontal exhibition characteristic of the rock soil mechanics parameter and regulation have been analyzed and predicted in the actual exploring area. All of these have provided a more dependable basis for the classification evaluation of the rock soil and the inquisition of the disaster geology phenomenon.
