In the engineering seismic prospecting, its objects will include not only general layer form but also inhomogeneous complicated media under more circumstances, the usual methods of geometry seismology can hardly resolve this problem, so people must adopt multi-wave and multi-component seismic prospecting. The multi-wave and multi-component is the development trend of seismic prospecting. Multi-wave multi-component seismic prospecting can gain quite abundant and valid information. The paper regards TSP203 exploration system as the platform, combining with some practical examples of multi-waves and multi-component seismic prospecting, detailedly elaborates multi-wave and multi-component data collection, carries on analysis about the layout design, seismic source selection, coupling, interference and so on, and puts forward some reasonable methods. Most of the data processing of multi-wave and multi-component is the same or roughly the same as the routine seismic prospecting. The differentia is that the former must separate the multi-wave field,otherwise it can't carry on other valid analysis. The paper use the bigger space to elaborate the wave field separation methods, analyse and contrast the adaptability and the separation effect of various methods. On the base of the different wave field separation methods, the author puts forward a set of wave field separation method, which suits for the trisection components multi-wave prospecting. The method not only makes use of the multi-wave kinetics characteristic, but also makes use of multi-wave dynamics characteristic (polarization characteristic), and adopts orthogonal transformation that has the least error if we regard variance as the standard Finally, the paper will show that the multi-wave and multi-component seismic prospecting has a widest application perspective combining with some engineering examples.
