Ordos is the secondary petroliferous basin located at the middle zone of sedimentary basin in china, affected by The East Pacific tectonic process and The Southwest Tethys-Himalayas tectonic process. Recently, foreigner mainly aimed at aspectes of North China platform and East Asia Slab Structure in Ordos. Chinese almost worked on stratigraphy and olefiant gas system. We obtained some new theoretical basis, especailly after introducing the theory of High-revolution Sequence Stratigraphy in the Nineties. With the promotion of exploration, more and more information we obtained, some new knowledge we realised, and some new question arised in practice, so it's necessary to deepen study in such large region.Predecessor have done many jobs about the sequence stratigraphy, and accumulated much experience and many data in ShanXi Formation. Moreover, there was high-degree exploration, many logs, and high comparability between wells. Therefore, it's high time to study the characteristics of the High-revolution Sequence Stratigraphy in ShanXi Formation in East Ordos. on the basis of the theories of Sedimentary Geology and Petroleum Geology, coupled with the comprehensive study of core, well-log, Outcrop and conclusion of other peoper, taking the High-resolution Sequence Stratigraphic theory as a direction, the author made a systematic exploration.First and foremost, we identified The Boundary between Carboniferous and Permian to put it in TaiYuan Formation refered to the achievement in the document. ShanXi formation spans two series, Lower(ChuanShan) and Middle(YangXin), same as Longlin and LuoDian Stage. Secondly, according to Geochemical Proxy, Outcrop, Core, Sedimentary structure, and sand distribution, we made a systematic study about the sedimentary environment, and recognized the Delta Depositional system as an Fluvial-Tide controlled, and identified the range of the sea facies in the bottom of ShanXi Formation. Based on above and the character of provenance, we known that the distribution regulation of quartz sandstone is controlled by the provenance, meamwhile, the tidal reconstruction play a great role. Furthermore, Depositional system was classfied into two kinds as Coast Depositional system controlled by Fluvial-Tide in early period and Continental Deposition system controlled by Fluvial-Lake in later period in ShanXi Formation , East Ordos.
