Based on the studying of the natural geographic and geological environment conditions, the characteristics of disaster environment and resource geological environment of Yuncheng city area , the influential factors of geological environment, such as topographic feature, geological tectonic, the properties of rock and soil, the natural resource condition, weather condition , artificial produced geological hazard and adverse effect coming from people's economic and engineering activities, the analysis of the assessment system and model were established with 12 first level assessment factors such as topographic grade, relative altitude difference, fracture length, content of radon gas in the ruptures, integrality assessment of rock and soil, anti-erosion capability of the rock and soil, rich extent in resources, ease or practicality of developing resources, serious degree of disaster, dangerous degree of disaster, influent and influential degree of human activities, the YunCheng city geological environment quality was assessed with method of multi-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. According to the evaluation result, the evaluation area was divided into three parts: geological environment high quality area, geological environment middle quality area and geological environment pool quality area.there are 55 high quality units, about 148 km2, account for 36.7 per cent of the total evaluation area, there are 73 middle quality units, about 212 km2, account for 52.4 per cent of the total evaluation area, there are 22 pool quality units, about 44 km2, account for 10.9 per cent of the total evaluation area. Finally, the way of implement of strategy of sustainable development were set forth after deeply studying on the sustainable development of YunCheng city from those five aspects: the sustainable use of water resource and environmental protection, sound planning and sustainable development of land resource, the sustainable use of mineral resource and environmental protection, sustainable development of travel resource and the city construction and sustainable development.
