Populus euphratica Oliv. plays an important role in improving the environment which has strong abilities to adapt to the desert climate in the temperate zone. It is singularly that the different shapes of leaves in one tree. Based on the structure feature studies, the relation between structure and ecophysiology features of Populus euphratica Oliv. can help us to understand the development regulation and formation mechanisms of heterophyll of Populus euphratica Oliv., and then to cast light on principles about its tolerance to drought, salt stress, etc.. It will also give foundations to the further reason for the leaf shape diversification of Populus euphratica Oliv..Populus euphratica Oliv. in Yidaoqiao, Ejina county in the northwest of Inner Mongolia is selected as our research materials. Daily changes of the photosynthesis in heterophyll of Populus euphratica Oliv. under different water conditions are measured, so is the structure of heterophyll of Populus euphratica Oliv.. Daily changes of the photosynthesis is measured by Li-6400 photosynthesis measurement system; soil moisture content by oven drying method; the microstructure of leaves by scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscope.The following conclusions are made out through the photosynthesis...
