Global Positioning System which is called GPS for short was first introduced into China in the 80th last century. GPS is largely used in the surveying (including mapping and exploiting) and fishery on the sea and vehicle positioning and watching. GPS is the most used on the vehicle; possess about 40% in all the applications at the present.China now has the biggest GPS application market potential in the world. And after development for about 10 years or more, the market for the GPS equipment is mature, and the consumers thus form a large number, the GPS application field in China is going into a fast growing period. At the present, some famous mobile phone manufacturer such as Nokia, Ericsson and SamSung are beginning to embed GPS function into the chip, and the telecom business in Japan and USA are planning to provide positioning service based on the GPS mobile phone. Along with the successive growth in the economy, especially after the entrance into the WTO, we believe that navigation and positioning based on satellite vehicle is growing into a new industry which will form enormous benefit in the economy and military and science and technology and become a new economical growing point.In the near future, there will come a scene that exist GPS from USA, Glonass (Global Orbiting Navigation Satellite System) from Russia, Galileo from Europe and Chinese regional positioning Beidou . GPS software receiver with a flexible architecture, is suit for developping different satellite vehicle positioning system, and is convenient to analyse different satellite signal and test the algorithm.
