The excellent performance of up-mixer plays a key role in the Microwave and Millimeter-wave systems. This dissertation makes a research in the theory and design of the Millimeter-wave up-converting system.The major job is manufacturing a transmitter, which has three up-mixer channels. Its function is to up convert the signals from C-band to Ka-band. The input local oscillator is provided by a low frequency crystal oscillator which is multiplied 512 times to Ka band. This system is used in the laboratory as a transmitter source, for the multidimensional objects in practice, which lead to the complexity of the reflect signal, so the amplitude,frequency and the phase of the transmit signals both have a key role in dealing with the reflection signals. Therefore, this system requires for the single channel and multi channels'amplitude and phase's coherence.We multiply the low frequency created by crystal oscillator 512 times to get the Ka band LO frequency. For discarding the harmonious frequencies yield by the multiplier, we connect narrow-band filters between the circuits. Also we connect the isolator to reduce the interfering caused by the feedback signal of the amplifier. According to the frequency of the LO system, we disjoin the whole LO system to two subsystems, and fix them in the different capsules. Considering the coherence of the LO signal, we divide it at the Ku-band but not the Ka-band, and then multiply it to the Ka-band separately.The results of the test demonstrate that the system has a good performance in the linearity, dynamic scope, isolation, the amplitude and phase's coherence. The electrical performances all satisfy the target requirements.
