The learning theory of Constructivism insists that the students are the main part of cognition, and considers that learning is a process of voluntary construct about consciousness of knowledge by learner. It claims that the process of learning is not only the input, storage and draw of information, but also the reciprocity between the new experience and the old one. The learning theory of Constructivism gradually prevails in the western countries. It's also a further development of learning theory from behaviourism to cognition. This thesis begins with the development of Constructivism and combines the present situation of mathematics teaching in higher vocational education and the students'distinguishing feature in learning mathematics. It also gives a minute discussion about how to permeate the Constructivism theory into the mathematics teaching and guide it. Combining with the actual conditions, the thesis focuses the discussion on Scaffolding Instruction, Anchored Instruction and Random Access Instruction and how to apply it in mathematics teaching. It achieved the unity of Constructivism theory and practice through an example lesson. At the last part of the thesis I summarized several considerable questions about Constructivism learning theory in mathematics teaching through my teaching experience.
