The stability of the structure is an important research subject in the modern solid mechanics, so is one of the current topics which are expected to be solved imminently in the engineering application. The cylinder is the structure applied most frequently in the engineering; to some extent, it accelerates the development of the structure stability theories to make a research on such problem as dynamic buckling. After a systematically theoretical analysis on dynamic buckling of cylinder under the impact load, the paper advances an effective research method toward the structure dynamic buckling; and it also presents a buckling mode of cylinder matching the result of the experiment. It attempts to solve the dynamic buckling problem of cylinder under the axial impact load by the way of finite element analysis, and puts forward a finite element format and generally-used arithmetic of the dynamic buckling, as well as making a thorough analysis on the characteristics of different arithmetic. For the advantage of time-economy of central difference, the paper, adopting the software and program parcel—LS-DYNA of ANSYS finite element, conducts numerical calculations on the dynamic buckling of the cylinder under the impact load. In view of geometric and material nonlinearity, it analyzes nonlinear dynamic response of cylinder and dynamic buckling under the axial impact according to B-R criterion; discusses the influencing factors of structure dynamic response of cylinder, dynamic buckling and dynamic invalidation under the axial impact, and obtains corresponding conclusions.Considering current diversity of analytical methods on dynamic buckling, the paper applies the research method of the combination of theory and numerical analysis. It introduces the main research direction of structure stability, and analyses the latest development in the field of dynamic stability. It also generalizes research methods and buckling phenomena of dynamic buckling of cylinder under the impact load. The research method of this thesis offers a thought and method for solving similar problems and relevant research directions.
