With the development of computer technology and numerical methods, nowadays the numerical simulation is widely used in the area of explosion mechanics. The scattering characteristics of spherical fragments under blasting were obtained by using the software ANSYS/LS-DYNA. The initial velocity, the scattering angle distribution of fragments, and the physical process were all obtained, the numerical simulation was in a good agreement with the results of literature, it shows that the finite element model is suitable. The velocity attenuation regularity of steel spherical and tungsten spherical fragment in the air was also discussed, via finite element program, penetrating of LY-12aluminun alloy target with spherical fragment was simulated, from which the terminal velocity was obtained. Also, the methods to improve the distribution of fragments by adding three tandem projectiles were explored. After these calculations, some analysis has been done and then reached some elementary conclusions: using delay fuze to make the layers of fragments scattering one by one can make the last fragments fetch up the empty area when the first fragments were leaving, forming a fragment wall which destroyed the enemy' s air target. The design of delay system was not discussed in this paper, it would be resolved in the latter work.
