Nuclear data measurement is very important in basic physics and practical applications. Through nuclear data measurement , researchers can learn more about the nuclear reaction mechanism, the nature of the atomic nuclei, etc. In the applications of nuclear technology, nuclear energy development, nuclear defense industry and other related areas, nuclear data measurement also plays a very important foundational role.Neutron is neutral, and has a strong penetration capability. When neutron is injected into a target, it is primarily interact with the atomic nucleus more than electron. The Cock-croft Walton Accelerator in China Institute of Atomic Energy is an important platform of nuclear data measurement and research. Monoenergetic fast neutrons produced by the accelerator are usually accompanied with a more or less remarkable contribution of neutrons elastically and inelastically scattered from the hall in which the accelerator is assembled, the shield which is used to prevent undesired neutrons from entering detectors, particularly the construction units of the target, the cooling water which is used to cool the target. Undesired nuclear reactions of the incoming ions with the target and self-target build-up may contribute to this neutron background, which disturbs the primary neutron field.It is clear that nuclear data measurement needs to know precise data of the actual neutron field that is generated by the accelerator. Therefore, it is very important to study carefully the interference and to measure precisely the neutron field.In the paper, bu using TARGET and MCNP (Monte Carlo simulation process), the author calculate the neutron field that is generated by the accelerator, and analyzed the neutron background which is generated by construction units of the target and the cooling water , etc., and tried to give some qualitative and quantitative conclusions for providing relevant data of target-optmizing. Bying flight-time method to measure the neutron spectrum produced by the accelerator in various angles, bying utilizing accompanying-particle method to monitor the experiment process, the spacial distribution of actual neutron field has been got after processing experimental data, and the results of simulated calculation was compared with experimental results.These works in the paper provided some foundational works for nuclear data measurement in the accelerator.
