Silicon is a very important material in many fields, especially in nuclear engineering field, is usually used in benchmark facilities as silicon oxide. Therefore, the precise evaluation for silicon is needed. In this paper, the comparison for the evaluated nuclear data of 28Si from CENDL-3.1, JENDL-3.3, JEFF-3.1 , ENDF/B-Ⅶand experimental data is done. Some problems are found for the cross sections of some reactions, elastic scattering and direct inelastic scattering angular distribution, and also the double differential cross section. The benchmark testing is also carried out for neutron current leakage spectra and photon current leakage spectra from 28Si of CENDL-3.1 by using Monte Carlo code MCNP4C, and the calculated results from CENDL-3.1, JENDL-3.3, JEFF-3.1 and ENDF/B-Ⅶare compared with experimental one. From the benchmark test results, it can be seen that the neutron current leakage spectra with CENDL-3.1 are much lowered in 4-8MeV, and the photon current leakage spectra is nearly lower 66% than the experimental one. It is necessary to improve on the cross sections of some reactions, double differential spectrum, and photon production data of Si from CENDL-3.1.The codes APMN, UNF, DWUCK are used for new evaluation of 28Si. The new evaluation data of 28Si have many improvements compared with the one of CENDL-3.1. Cross sections of some reactions are more reasonable, elastic scattering and direct inelastic scattering angular distributions and double differential spectra show good agreement with the experimental data more than CENDL-3.1.Integral tests are also done for the new evaluation data of 28Si. The neutron leakage spectra based on the new Si has much improvement compared with the result from CENDL-3.1, especially at 4-8MeV. The photon leakage spectrum base on the new 28Si shows good agreement with the experimental data more than CENDL-3.1, and the 66% difference between CENDL-3.1 and experimental one has not been presented.According to the studies, it is concluded that : it is an effective way to improve onevaluated data through detailed benchmark testing analysis. The new evaluated data of 28Si have more improved compared with the ones of CENDL-3.1, and the results of integral testing are better than the results based on the one of CENDL-3.1. But the following problems are needed to be solved in future evaluation of 28Si:i, Further modification for the cross sections of 28Si (n, a) and 28Si (n, 2n) reactions are needed.ii, More accurate evaluation of direct inelastic scattering cross sections should be done.iii, More accurate photon production data should be given.iv, More benchmark facilities should be collected for more detailed integral tests.v, The benchmark tests are also needed for 29Si and 30Si.
