Metal hydride is widely used in hydrogen isotope storage, but the isotope effect was always been worried about in its application,so it's very valuable to analyze the H,D and T depth concentration distribution in the film of metal hydride. The elastic recoil detection(ERD)method was used to achieve this analysis in this work. After bombarding the HD-Ti and DT-Ti sample with 7.4MeV ~4He ion beam,we got their ERD spectra at 30°to the ion beam incident direction, and analyzed the hydrogen isotope depth concentration distribution and hydrogen isotope effect in Ti film. The proton backscattering (PBS)method was also applied to analyze the HD-Ti sample,to compare with ERD analysis result. The cross sections of 3.6~7.6MeV ~4He to D,T at 30°angle have been measured in this work, and the corresponding cross section data were obtained.Measurement results show that there is a resonance peak of ~4He to T at the energy of 5.0MeV,which could influent the quantitative analysis of ~4He to T.ERD analysis of HD-Ti sample which prepared in 1:1 ratio between H and D show, that in the near surface about less than 0.2μm,the concentration of H is higher than that of D, while deeper than 0.6μ,m,the concentration of H and D are same which keep on about 75%~80%relative to Ti.When deeper than 1.7μm in the Ti film, the concentration of H and D increased with the depth increase. The concentration and distribution of H and D keep concurrent in each depth, which certified their isotope effect is not patent, and the qualitative analysis result of PBS to this sample and D-Ti sample is correspond with ERD analysis.ERD analysis of DT-Ti sample, which prepared in 2:3 ratio between D and T show, that the concentration of hydrogen isotope in near surface of Ti film is lower, and it increased with the depth increase. This result is corresponding with the analysis result of HD-Ti sample. The ERD spectra of D and T overlapped each other severely since the lack of particle discrimination apparatus in this work, and it need several times simulating to separate the spectra completely, which caused obvious error inevitably.Analysis results show that the D and T concentration ratio in each layer of Ti film keep on about 0.51 which are relatively stable, but different from the initial preparing atmosphere ratio 2/3.This result shows that the isotope effect of D and T in Ti is not patent too.
