Taebaek Mountain Clothing

Mt.Taibai Nature Reserve lies in the middle of the Qinling Mountains,between 107°41′23″- 107°51′40″E and 33°49′31″- 34°08′11″.Mt.Taibai Nature Reserve lies in the transitional belt between temperate zone and subtropical zone.The lichens are abundance in this area.The investigation in detail on lichens in Mt.Taibai Nature Reserve can supply basic information for the later lichen-research in this area.This paper is based on the field survey and on the known data.It comes to the conclusion that there are about 299 species(including 8 varieties,1forma)of lichens belonging to 54 genera and 22 families and two groups.In these lichens,9 species are reported for the first time from the Qinling Mountains.They are Leptogium moluccanum(Pers.)Vain.var.myriophyllinum(Müll.Arg.)Asah.,Cetrelia collata (Nyl.)Culb.& Culb.,Parmelia reticulata Tayl.,Parmelia perlata Ach.,Parmelia zollingeri Hepp.,Flavoparmelia caperata(Linn.)Hale f.laevissima Gyeln., Parmotrema nilgherrensis Nyl.,Heterodermia japonica(Sato)Swinscow & Krog., Heterodermia albicans(Pers.)Thoms.Each species of the 299 is described morphologically,anatomically,chemically and geographically in detail.The keys to the genera and species of the lichens are presented in the paper as well.This paper provides not only a basis for the further study of the protection of the biodiversity and the use of Biological resources in Mt.Taibai Nature Reserve,but also the essential data for the further study of the lichens in this area.
