The thermal photovoltaic system is composed of the thermal radiator, the optical filter, the thermophotovoltaic(TPV) cell, the heat recovery and the secondary components. The main advantages is higher theoretical efficiency, low noise, no moving parts, portable, high reliability, high-volume ratio of power, high-weight ratio power, and the geothermal energy can be combined with the use and power generation and so on.This part studies the optical filter, which is also called spectrum controller, can be used to achieve the optical match between the thermal radiation and the TPV, the major role is transmitting the required infrared light and reflecting the infrared light that the TPV can not convert to electric to the thermal radiation for reusing. The optical filter influences the conversion efficiency of the thermal photovoltaic systems, so the research on the choosing properties appears to be particularly important.Basing on the theoretical knowledge of the optical-thin-film and the optical measuring technology, a set of optical filter test system has been constructed. Comparing the advantages and disadvantages of testing methods, a suitable test system has been chosen. After selecting the spectrometer as a tool, according to their characteristics, functions, the film for the optical transmission, reflection measurement system has been designed and a method of checking the test results has been given. The design achieves the goal basically. Finally, in the light of the test of the film, analyzing the results, preparing for the next stage of the work.
