Design And Implementation Of The Meteorological Scientific Data Sharing System Based On Metadata

Meteorological scientific data gives a full play to the science and technology innovation and public life,but the lower use efficiency and lag-management have led restraint the scientific value. Therefore,it is important to establish the system of meteorological scientific data sharing and make full use of the application of modern IT for expediting the development of meteorological science and technology.This paper start with the present situation and problems of meteorological scientific data sharing.Then the article describes how to design and develop meteorological scientific data sharing system based on metadata by combining with the demand analysis of data sharing and information sharing project of QingHai Provincial Meteorological Bureau.The theoretical issues related to meteorological scientific data sharing are systemically analyzed, including the concept,characteristic and classification of meteorological scientific data.The paper introduces the basic theory of metadata,and analyzes the concepts,characteristics,classification of datasets and metadata,and leads to XML technology of display of a metadata description. Technology of data sharing is analyzed.It notes the application of metadata solve meteorological scientific data sharing of key technology. On the basis of the basic concepts of metadata,core metadata extension mechanism of meteorological scientific data is studied and basic principle of the metadata extension is discussed.Several metadata storage modes at present are analysised.With meteorological metadata status,the storage strategy of combination of file system and relational database are proposed,then metadata and sharing database are designed.Finally , meteorological scientific data sharing system is designed and developed. The plan implements the managing and searching functions of data-sharing platform based on metadata database,designs a Data Sharing Service platform on Web.The extensible and configurable system established a solid base for the meteorological scientific data sharing efficiently.
