In the traditional Geographical Information System, the vector to raster conversion is a fundamental issue, and the rasterization of vector polygons has to a most in-depth study. The extensive application of grid data model, has put forward higher requirements on rasterization, such as the use of grid data model in area statistics and regional analysis, all need to maintain the elements as much as possible in the area of the minimum error.To the question of guaranteed minimum issue size changes in vector Polygon to grid conversion, one model known as Equal-area conversion model (EAC) has been raised, this model based on the principle of area compensation optimize, on the basis of taking full account of the Polygon neighboring relations of topology, to ensure the smallest area changes and the most similar geometry characteristics (convex and concave, etc.) of each polygon in the transform, EAC conversion model has a certain precision and stability advantages, in theory, there are still many aspects which need improvement.This paper based on the model based on the EAC has done further work. First of all, on the view of matrix optimization calculate, based on the matrix characteristics in the model, the border grid will be divided into arc and nodes grid, respectively, the conversion optimization Equation model has been given under the restraints of the smallest errors, and large volume of vector data are to become grid. Secondly, take MATLAB as a computing platform, take the border grid model as an example, the three adjacent border polygon becomes grid using the optimization equation on a small-scale, and compare the distribution under the principle of mutual compensation and priority. Finally, the selection had considered the polygon spatial structure characteristic data set,and carry on the contrast analysis with EAC model and area occupies superior model (PolyGRID) in the ArcGIS.
