Optical active tracking in atmosphere turbulence is an important research task, and it has broad applications in both military and unmilitary field. How to improve the stability of the line of sight (SLOS) and tracking precision are two important tasks. Based on simulations, stabilization control technique and tracking algorithm of optical active tracking system have been studied in depth in this paper.Atmosphere turbulence is an important factor which influences the SLOS. Firstly Adaptive optical technology was used in objects tracking system which works in atmosphere environment, and imaging performance of this technology was analyzed through simulation. Based on this, a new correcting way, named dual-conjugate adaptive optics (DCAO), is proposed. Through the simulation of atmospheric imaging and the analysis of the performance parameters, the result shows that the DCAO system has a great advantage in atmospheric turbulence correction. In order to model and simulate AO system, the three main parts of an adaptive optic system, including wavefront sensor, wavefront corrector and wavefront reconstruction algorithm, are introduced. For each part, the theories are discussed. Wavefront reconstruction algorithm is the most important part of the whole system, so the modal wavefront reconstruction algorithm using Zernike polynomials and the principle on determining the order of Zernike polynomials are presented in detail. The simulation on wavefront reconstruction proves the validity of the algorithm.Platform vibration is another important factor which influences the SLOS. In order to resolve this problem, the composite axis control applied Fuzzy-PID control was researched in this paper. Firstly the Fuzzy-PID controller with self-adjusting parameter was designed, and then the system was simulated under Matlab, finally compared with traditional PID. Simulation result shows the Fuzzy-PID controller has good performance.Based on above studies, the overall program was analyzed and the system was designed in this paper.Finally, the principle of target tracking was summarized including target tracking mode and some important filtering methods focusing the research on Kalman filter. The interactive multiple modes have also been studied based on Kalman filter. The simulation results show that the interactive multiple mode algorithm can improve the tracking performance.
