Reflection and transmission phenomena are the common physical phenomena in our life, some new changes and new features of the wave will be produced after reflection or transmission, these new features are widely used in the industrial, aerospace, microelectronics and other fields. Therefore, there is a extremely extensive research in this area. This paper will discuss the reflection and transmission problems which are mainly from the quantum mechanics of particles through the potential field and electromagnetic waves through layered media. In addition, to some commonly used methods in these two areas, theoretical derivation and analysis will be done. After that, a new method is proposed to derive the particle through the continuous changes in potential field, and the derived results are compared.In quantum mechanics, the research methods about the previous one-dimensional side of the field situation are improved, and transform the previous form into the one-dimensional symmetry of the square field, parabola field and cosine field situation. The traditional algorithms is used in the study of the one-dimensional symmetry of the square field, and the traditional algorithm is simple and easy to understand, but the step situation and the actual situation are quite different, therefore, in the parabolic and cosine-shaped fields, a new method is used. This method can weaken the requirements of the potential field shape and it has certain regularity, which makes the formula can be applied directly in some potential field without the need for a lot of calculations.In electromagnetism, this paper analyzes the previous way of stratified seeking reflection, transmission coefficient in non-uniform medium, and takes electromagnetic wave oblique incidence through two-and-three homogeneous medium as an example to make a detailed theoretical and formula derivation on the electromagnetic wave reflection and transmission, moreover there uses geometrical optics method verifies the correctness of the results. In addition to that, for the macro and micro methods of solving the reflection wave and transmission wave, the article gives a detailed explanation on the approach of thinking, features and formula, etc.
