Zinc oxide (ZnO) is an important direct wide band gap (3.37eV) semiconductor with interesting piezoelectric, optoelectronic, and pyroelectric properties. The exciton binding energy of ZnO at room temperature is 60 meV, much lager than those of other semiconductors. Now many researchers have benefited the realization of many kinds of novel ZnO nanostructures, such as nanowires, nanotubes, nanobelts, nanorings, and so on. The various ZnO nanostructures will play important roles in preparing optoelectronic and nanoelectronic devices, since they display many excellent properties different from bulk ZnO.Yttrium aluminum garnet(YAG)crystals form in the cubic garnet structure, and belong to the isometric crystal system. Due to its homogeneous optical properties and lack of birefringence effects, Nd:YAG is widely used for lasers and luminescence materials. Cerium activated yttrium aluminum garnet(YAG:Ce) is the primary phosphor for WLEDs, the WLEDs have potential of replacing the conventional incandescent, fluorescent and discharge-column-type fluorescent lamps and it will become the forth generation lighting and have wide application prospect. However as a important component of producing LED, the capabilities of YAG:Ce phosphors still need improved. In this paper, the work done by the following parts:1. The different proportion of sulfur-doped ZnO powder was prepared by hydrothermal method, and characterized the samples with X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM)2. The nano-ZnO powders was analyzed carefully by variotherm photoluminescence.3. The nana-ZnO powders was analyzed by ultraviolet absorption Spectra.4. Prepared the Cerium activated yttrium aluminum garnet, and analyzed the photoluminescence (PL).
