Carbon encapsulated metal nanoparticles (CEMNPs), graphite layers arrange around the center (filled with nano-metal), which was named core-shell structure. The graphite of shell had extraordinary steady chemical properties, which protected nano-metal against effect of environment, so extend confine of applications of this material. And this materials had unique physical and chemical properties, had huge worthiness of potential applications in many areas.Tradition method for preparing carbon encapsulated metal nanopaticles involve require rather sophisticated equipment, hard dominate technics, high cost, high power consumption and low productivity eatal malpractices. In this paper, facile mild reaction condition and easy dominate technics of thermocatalysis method succeeded in synthesizing Carbon encapsulated Co nanoparticles and Carbon encapsulated nanoparticles, with high yield as much as 10-20g of product can be prepared at one time. And systematically inspected the preparation process and parameters, such as the amount of metal distribution, annealing temperatures and annealing time processing conditions on carbon-coated cobalt nanoparticles forming impact. The component, morphology, structure and particular properties of the product were characterized via XRD,HRTEM,Raman,TG-DSC and VSM measurements. The results indicated the shape of product was quasi spherical, particles distributed uniformly with the size about 20-50 nm, Carbon encapsulated Co nanoparticles had perfect core-shell structure, carbon of shell had high graphene, and Carbon encapsulated FeCu4 nanoparticles had obvious core-shell structure, carbon of shell had low graphene. The both materials had evident magnetism and steady calorifics.The Carbon encapsulated Co nanoparticles was used as the additive of paraffin, and its tribological properties were investigated by Four-ball Machine and ameliorate XP-1 Machine. With experiment, we knowed PB and PD of lubricating oil was lower than paraffin's, diameter of attrition and force of attrition of lubricating oil was small than paraffin's. The results indicated the Carbon encapsulated Co nanoparticles was very good lubricant . The Carbon encapsulated Co nanoparticles had the best effect of lubrication under 45N and 380 r/min in XP-1 Machine. 3-20wt% content of Carbon encapsulated Co nanoparticles, the film had good adhesive force, impact resistance, flexibility and hardness, and the film can apply in imbibe wavs area and screen electromagnetism area.
