Directly lead electroplating on aluminium material was system atically studied, this technique is characterized without two times zinc immersion plating, before hand copper-planting and nickel-planting, covering of conductive layer, and other complex pretreatments. There just need simple chemical and electro chemical pretreatments before DC electrical source plating on aluminium material in lead plating bathe with dispersant and stabilizer.Optimal parameters and technics flow were chosen on the basic of a series of single factor experiment and orthoganal experiments, technics flow:burnishment of raw materialâ†'degreasingâ†'alkali erodingâ†'clean of electronâ†'activationâ†'acid washâ†'lead electroplating; main steps and parameters:(1) electron cleaner NaOH 25-40g/L, Na3PO410-20 g/L, Na2CO320-25g/L;NaCl 2-3g/L, additive trace; (2) activation H2SO480-100 g/L, HC120-30g/L, NaC110-20g/L, cushion salt 40-50g/L, additive trace; (3) lead electroplating Pb(Ac)2150g/L, HF 160g/L, H3BO3 20g/L, glutin 20g/L, dispersant A 1g/L,stabilizer B lg/L, electric current density 1A/dm2, temperature 40℃.This paper, plating layer was prepared according to the technics, appearance, face, appearance and face of section, spectral analysis, adhesion strength, corrosion resistance, and other tests of the samples were done. The results showed that smooth face, well-proportioned, compact, without bubble, and favorable adhesion strength plating layer on aluminium material was prepared using this technics. After a series of test, it is primarily proved this technics is suitable for the prepareation of light-type grid materials of lead-acid battery and anode materials. Also stability of plating solution, high yield, low consumption and contamination, simple process, low cost, and perspect for industrialization so on are the advantages of this technics.Along with the further investigation, deposition of lead dioxide after directly lead electroplating on aluminium material was studied. Lead dioxide has a good conductivity which is similar to metal, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) showed that electricity behavior is similar to metallic lead. Lead dioxide has two crystal shapea-PbO2 andβ-PbO2, of whicha-PbO2 is rhombic crystal and small, but its corrosion resistance and conductivity is poor, and it has a favorable adhesion strength with pure lead andβ-PbO2, so we chooseÎą-PbO2 as the interspace;β-PbO2 is rutile cubic crystal and bigger, its corrosion resistance and conductivity is better, and it was selected as the face which can be abtained in acid solution. This paper, lead plating on the base of aluminium and aluminium alloy, then plate lead dioxide in the alkaline and acid solution respectively, by this way Al/Pb/PbO2anode materials were prepared. Enhancement of anode life test showed that using life is equal to 876.27 days in industry, which was longer than PbO2 anode material. Slot voltage was range from 2.9-3.2V, average electric current efficiency was up to 90%, which was better than conventional lead-silver alloy layer. Anodic polarization curves test showed that it has a long anode life and lower oxygen evolution potential compared to pure lead anode materials. Thus, Al/Pb/PbO2material prepared by this technics in this condition is more suitable for anode materials in electrolysis process.As it is reviewed, preparation of lead layer and lead dioxide on the surface of aluminium materials by chemical and electrochemical treatment is a new field of grid materials production, and exploitation and application of this kind of materials has wide market perspect and remarkable economy benefit.
