At present, the shortage and the pollution of water resource is appeared in China. The pollution is continuously serious, and its range is extending. The pollution accident of Yang Zonghai, which made people pay more attention to the safety of the water source. The pollutants were diffcult to be removed by conventional treatment technology. Therefore, the problem of micro-polluted source water treatment is urgent to be solved. With the introduction of zeolite as the filler for the filter, this research took a test of culturing bio membrane on the surface of the zeolite, studied the pollutants remove of zeolite biofilter. The paper first analysed the static adsorption capacity of zeolite, and then preliminary studied the mechanism of reactor, analysed the technique start-up process of natural biomembrane. At last, the paper studied pollutants remove effect and its influences of zeolite biofilter under the different work conditions. The static adsorption test showed that:zeolite have a strong capacity to adsorb NH4+-N,as well as As, TP, and F". As the filling material, zeolite is beneficial to the growth of microorganism, and it has a stability and high removal of pollutants. The structure and the purification mechanism of the biofllm has been analysed in the micro-polluted source water treatment. The biomembrane uses the metabolism of microorganism to purify water quality. The zeolite biofilter test showed that:the time of natural biomembrane is about 28.days, with temperature is 15~20℃. At the preliminary stage of the process, it can remove ammonia nitrogen by the adsorption of zeolite while with the coordination of bacteria's degradation at the later stage. When the removal of ammonia nitrogen remains above 80%, it indicates that the biomembrance is successful. The successful zeolite biofilter test shows that:in the single pollutant treatment, when water temperature is 1.5~20℃, the hydraulic is 2.4m3/(m2·d), the removal of zeolite biofilter is quite good. When the concentration is 0.20mg/L, the maximum removal of As is at 35.78%. Change with the hydraulic, the removal will be decreased. Despite of the different work conditions, there is no obvious change in the removal of total phosphorus and fluoride. When water temperature is 15~20℃, the hydraulic is 2.4m3/(m2·d), the average removal of total phosphorus and fluoride is relatively low, respectively about 10.19% and 8.81%.In the mixed pollutants treatment, when water temperature is 15~20℃, the concentration of total phosphorus is 0.10mg/L and fluoride is 1.00mg/L, the average removal of As remains at 10.34%~13.42%. When the concentration of arsenic is less than 0.05mg/L, it has little effect to the removal of total phosphorus and fluoride. However, the continuous increase of concentration of has some influence to the removal of total phosphorus and fluoride. The biofilter test draws a conclusion:It has achieved the initial achievement in the treatment of micro-polluted source water, using the zeolite as the filler for the biofilter. Compared with physicochemical method, the biofilter has a good application prospect in micro-polluted source water treatment.
