In the chemical industry, organic synthesis of fine chemicals, the core technology in national economic development, has made an important contribution. The acid catalyst has played a particularly important role in organic synthesis. The current acid catalysts are mainly liquid acid catalyst, or solid acid catalyst. As the acid doped polyaniline has some special features, it can be doped with inorganic acid and organic acids. The acid doped polyaniline has shown a good catalytic performance in organic conversion. Therefore, this paper does several researches for the catalytic properties of polyaniline:(1) The hydration of turpentine was regarded as the goal reaction to study effects of preparation conditions on the catalytic activity, such as different acids and different acid concentration. Better preparation conditions were obtained. We also applied this kind of catalyst to a-pinene isomerization and esterification reaction system.(2) Under the conditions of catalytic system in the polyaniline, kinetic of the hydration reaction was analyzed and a corresponding kinetic equation was established.(3) The catalytic properties of polyaniline also tested in hydration and esterification reaction. Hydration and esterification conditions, such as the ratio of raw materials, reaction temperature were analyzed.(4) Microstructure and morphologies of the the acid doped polyaniline were analyzed Using SEM, IR, BET, XRD etc. And these characteristics were associated with catalytic activity.
