Nickel is one of an important strategic reserve metals, and it is widely used in metallurgy, chemical industry, construction, petroleum, machinery, instruments, light industry and the other industries. With electroplating, oil and chemicals, precision alloys and the other industries technological progressing, the purity quality of the electric nickel is required advance year by year. The methods of producing nickel were introduced in this paper. The nickel resource and its consumption in word and in our country were also introduced. Nickel manufacture engineering flows were summarized in this paper, and drawing on the experience of the others, a new way to produce nickel including two parts which are vacuum distillation and electrolysis was advanced. Vacuum distillation impurity removal process can simplify the process of anode electrolysis electrolyte purification process of removing impurity. In this paper, vacuum distillation, purification of crude nickel principles, thermodynamics and process conditions is studied systematically, determining the conditions of the anode electrolyte parameters of impurity-removed through experiments, and conduct small scale electrolysis experiments open up the entire process. In the vacuum distillation part of this paper, a purity of 99.96% of the crude nickel as a raw material, through the thermodynamic calculation and analysis over to a different temperature and time under conditions of low vacuum in the vacuum distillation experiments. Reached the following conclusions:(1) The Yi,αi,βi,γio, of the impurities are calculated. And the degree of separation of the impurities and the main element—nickel is analyzed with thermodynamic methods in this paper.(2) Determining the feasibility and conditions of the parameters of purifying crude nickel by vacuum distillation_process. In the experimental conditions:the temperature of 1600℃, the time of heat preservation is 2.5h and the degree of vacuum is 5-10Pa. The impurities including Si, P, S, Zn, As, Cd, Sn, Sb, Pb, Bi, Al, Mn and Mg were removed and accorded to the standard of 0# nickel. The results of vacuum distillation are effective. The process of electrolysis was managed by the experiments and some good results were got to do the further electrolysis experiments.
