The process of the electroless plan to do modification on the powder surface of the solid lubricants based on UHMWPE. Study electroless copper modification technique on the surface of polymer solid lubricant additive such as yankees graphite, carbon fiber.technology of polyethylene wax grafting maleic anhydride were studied in this thesis.the micro-structure of copper graphite was characterized by XRD SEM and TEM, using image processing method to calculate the uniformity of nano coating layer which were on the graphite surfaces; polyethylene wax (PEW) grafting maleic anhydride(MAH)process was optimize by application of orthogonal experimental design optimization,measuring the rate of graft, the performances of the PEW which was before and after grafted was characterized by IR,DSC;mixing the copper graphite, PEW-g-MAH and UHMWPE to prepare the solid lubricant, using image processing method to design a quantitative evaluation system of polymer mixed uniformity in order to quest for model of using uniformity characterization of quantitative relationship formula and performance,determinating friction and wear performance, measuring surface energy.And measure its uniformity by the image recognition technology, finally design UHMWPE solid lubricant formulation, applied to locomotive wheels lubrication great practical production.Test results show that:(1) The pictures of XRD,SEM,TEM show that nanoscale copper particles coats on the graphite after electroless planting; through the image recognition and homogeneity quantitative characterized technology, we see that the size of Copper particles base on the size of graphite particles, and small particles graphite surfaces were coated by copper with good effect;(2) The pictures of XRD,SEM,TEM,XPS show that nanoscale copper particles coats on the Carbon fiter after electroless planting;there are C=O and C-O-C polar group on the surface of the skeleton PAN carbon. The orthogonal analysis results obtained for optimal parameters formula:CuSO4·5H2O 15 g/L, EDTA 25 g/L, NaOH 16g/L.(3) Based on the orthogonal experiment results,the best technics of PEW grafting MAH is 5g MAH,0.4g BPO,50g PEW, reaction temperature 140℃,reaction time 3h; the IR pictures showed that the MAH was grafted on the chain of the PEW; DSC curve showed that the Tm of the PEW-g-MAH(86.6℃) was higher than the PEW (85.1℃),and the thermal stability of PEW-g-MAH is higher than PEW; Surface test resulted that the surface energy of PEW-g-MAH (29.808×10-3J/m2) is bigger than the PEW (26.941×10-3J/m2);(4) The friction coefficient of copper graphite/UHMWPE (0.233)is litter than graphite/UHMWPE(0.246);the friction coefficient and wear rate of PEW-g MAH/ UHMWPE (0.271,0.074%) was higher than PEW/UHMWPE(0.261,0.046%);and the copper graphite/PEW-g-MAH/MoS2/UHMWPE's (0.227,0.032%) is the lowest; The whole ultra-high molecular weight lubricant system friction performance to achieve the best after packing via electroless copper, grafting modification and MoS2 joined in.(5) The results of characterizion of quantitatively uniformity by image recognition technology showed, the uniformity of the composite materials was determined by the mixtures of processes, when the proportion and the mixing efficiency were alike, the longer the time of the dispersion process,the better the uniformity is better.(6)The friction coefficient of Independent design and development of 1#and 2# UHMWPE solid lubrication is litter than the original producted by the cooperrative company, and the membranous have improved considerably. Overall, comprehensive friction performance of the 1# is the best.
