Study On Fast Pattern Grading From Size A To C Based On Donghua Basic Pattern

Along with the improvement of people's living standard, our consumers' figures have become more diverse. Women are plumper than before, and their height, arm length and leg length have increased conspicuously. At the same time the differentials between bust length and waist length are generally small. Many of the consumers belong to Size B or C in GB. Based on this situation, garment factories need to increase the coverage of the product size. However, it costs too much time on pattern making and grading to realize the production of multiple sizes with traditional method. It will be difficult for clothing factory's rapid reaction and the clothes will miss the best-selling period. So in order to save costs, most clothing companies still produce clothing of Size A only, which leads to two kinds of consequences:one is that consumers of Size B or C complain that they can not buy suitable clothes; the other is that large quantities of clothes will be overstocked.The key to solve this problem is to find a way of fast pattern grading to improve the productivity of garment factories. In this paper, we will study on fast pattern grading for different figures based on characteristics of Chinese women's figures. Purpose of this study is to achieve fast pattern grading and to make garment CAD pattern grading more intelligent.Ideas and methods of this study:(1) Find out the problems of the application of garment size standards in our country through comparing and analyzing garment size standards and their application at home and abroad.(2) Analyze the characteristics of women's figures and the differences between different shapes with the same height in GB, and summarize domestic and international classification methods of women's figures with the aim to find out the characteristics and the regulation of Size C.(3) Using a method mixing theoretical analysis with experiment, waist dart on Donghua basic patterns will be set and verified by experiments.(4) Compare the existing methods of pattern grading, combining the characteristics of automatic pattern grading technology and using a method mixing the garment grading by grade point with parametric formulas, to make a single dimension of automatic pattern grading from Size A to C, then verify it.(5) Use vc++6.0 on Windows XP operating system to program.(6) Prove the practicality of this procedure through comparing the program running results with that of professional apparel CAD software and analyzing the similarities and differences of graphics output between them.In this paper, we use a method mixing theoretical analysis with experiment, using VC++ programming, to realize fast pattern grading from Size A to C in Donghua basic pattern, which makes a certain innovation.
