Persimmon is a kind of fruit which widely cultivated in China. The persimmon cultivation and production of china is the first in the world. Persimmon is a nutritious fruit, whose content of sugar is very high. Persimmon contains many active ingredients. The content of tannin in persimmon is higher than other fruits. A large number of premature persimmons fall down from the persimmon trees every summer before the harvest of persimmon. Almost all of them were abandoned in the orchard without being effective utilized. Because the amount of tannin in these premature persimmons is very high so take these premature persimmons as the material to extract proanthocyanidins is a good way to make use of the premature persimmons. In this article the premature persimmon was used as the material to product proanthocyanidins. The process conditions of extracting the proanthocyanidins from the premature persimmon and the process condition of purifying the proanthocyanidins were studied.Firstly the common method of extracting proanthocyanidins from the premature persimmon by solvent was studied. The best extraction condition of proanthocyanidins from the premature persimmon was studied. The 30% ethanol is the best extraction solvent. The optimized extraction conditions are:extraction time 3 hours, the ratio of solid to liquid 1:12, extraction temperature 70℃and extract two times. The extraction rate of proanthocyanidins was 2.3%.Secondly the optimum ultrasonic extraction process of proanthocyanidins was studied. Optimal extracting condition was confirmed as follows:the power of ultrasonic 150W, the consistence of alcohol 70%, the ratio of liquid to material 1:12, the extraction time 15mins and the extraction temperature was 45℃. The extraction rate of proanthocyanidins was 3.5%.Thirdly the optimum microwave extraction proanthocyanidins fron premature persimmons were studied. The optimal extracting conditions are confirmed as follows: the power of microwave 700W, the solvent of the ethanol 100%, the ratio of liquid to material 1:4 the extracting time 5 minutes and extract two times. The extraction rate of proanthocyanidins was 3.3%.Choose the LS300 resin as the material for the purification of proanthocyanidins. The absorbability of LS300 resin was studied. The results of static adsorption showed that the adsorption isotherm could be correlated with Freundlich. The adsorption equilibrium time was about 4-6 hours. The experiment of concentration gradient elution by ethanol solution showed that the most proanthocyanidins were concentrate on two parts:the 20% and 40%. The purity quotients of two parts were 46.5% and 62.3%.
