During today's seamless steel pipe production process, a lot of challenges, we should face, include the number of steel pipes which the modern industry needs increasingly, and the specifications of steel pipe are growing widely, the quality requirements of steel pipe are higher than before. Tension reducing mill is an important part in the seamless steel pipe production, so it is also the most significant fraction of our study part. The mill makes the pierced billet which is from the pipe and tube mill decrease the diameter and reduce the wall thickness. So that many kinds of pipes could be produced.The main contents include the following(1) In this article, it describes the basic conditions and the development of tension reducing mill. it also shows us a comprehensive and systematic reducing tension theory with The latest achievements of modern time and a lot of experience, which bases on the metal deformation mechanics, summarizes past the basic theory of tension-reducing.(2) According to reducing the tension derived theory. We use the computer to solve the complex and onerous answers, and then we can get the various parameters of tension reducing process very quickly. The 3-D FEA can do the numerical simulation by the various parameters of tension reducing procession with computer. So that the tension reducing theory also can be proved correctness.(3) During the actual production,we produce the goods under the data which obtained by computer. The result of the Production is very perfect. So the tension reducing theory is examined again. The consequence also can be proved.(4) The Mathematical model is reliability the reason that it is used to calculate by the tension reducing software system is also simulated by Marc, and is tested by the field production. Therefore, this model could provide a strong theoretical support for the Tube stretch-reducing theory. At the same time, it also could guide practical production. To sum up, this paper has important theoretical and practical significance.
