Currently anaerobic biotechnology is an important component of organic wastewater treatment technology. In respect of dealing with high concentration organic wastewater, anaerobic usually possesses the characteristics of that has higher load capacity and cover an smaller area compared with aerobic. But how to design and supervise the wastewater anaerobic treatment structures more efficiently, and to save the area of wastewater treatment facilities more effectively, is the anxiety of the majority of wastewater treatment engineers. Therefore, we consider increasing height (depth) of anaerobic reactor to save the area. But Whether increasing height (depth) will affect the ability of treating organic matter of anaerobic microbe, this paper studied it experimentally. The experiment simulated the effects after increasing reactor height of anaerobic treatment of organic compounds by pressure. It treated methanol wastewater in condition of 37±1℃by using an anaerobic reactor model (effective volume is 9L)which was designed and manufactured by myself after multiple testing to insure the reactor was sealed. The reactor was in the same situations such as temperature, pH value and water quality ect. By installing the pneumatic valve with different pressures to control the pressure inside the reactor. And through the experimental monitoring each water quality indicator of influent and effluent and aerogenesis, ect, to study the relationship between the pressure inside the reactor and the effect of wastewater treatment, and to discover the pressure when the anaerobic microbes achieves the best processing effect.According to the study of the content we can draw the following conclusions:Below 0.8MPa,along with the pressure increased gradually, the COD removal rate increased gradually; and the VFA density of effluent decreased slightly. The amount of gas dissolved in water increased gradually. And the pH value of effluent is reduced gradually, which reduced more and more obviously along with the pressure increasing; but it did not affect the normal operation of the reactor. Simultaneously ammonia nitrogen elevating ratio also increases gradually, and the the amount of gas dissolved in water which was brought out of water was increasing.when When the pressure was about 1.0MPa , compared with 0.8MPa, the COD removal rate decreased, the VFA density of effluent increased slightly, the effluent pH value further decreased, the ammonia nitrogen elevating ratio decreased, and the rate of gas production decreased. The operation results indicated that during designing and manufacturing an anaerobic reactor, we may increase the height of reactor modestly with required, which can improve the capacity of processing organic wastewater. This provides more theoretical basis and technological options for processing high concentration organic wastewater.
