| In recent years, with the rapid development of communications, computer, multimedia,Internet and other advanced technology, virtual technology applied in the experimental field of teaching is possible. Virtual experiment is the third scientific research method followed with theoretical and experimental researches, which combines computer technology, software technology , network technology and traditional experimental apparatus to convert experimental system and its structure models for enhancing the overall performance of laboratory instruments. Still, virtual technology overcomes the time and space constraints to experiment operation, and reforms traditional experimental methods. Hence, it is of great significance to carry out virtual experiments actively and to promote the reform of experimental instruction so as to resolve the problems of the lack of teaching resources for teachers in the teaching experiment, providing new teaching aids for teacher to implement experimental instruction, facilitating learners'learning as supplement to authentic experimental instruction, being better to carry out distance education for experimental teaching so as to avoid the dangers resulted from authentic experiment or operation completely.In this paper, an elaboration on the concept of virtual experiment, its development history and classification are presented in details based on a large host of literature reviews. Also, an introduction to the study and application on virtual experiments abroad and at home is witnessed, particularly through the full-picture of the domestic CNKI retrieval of virtual experiments study. Looking over the indexes in the past five years, the domestic research on virtual experiment is gradually prevailing. Researchers carried out massive studies and application promotion from the theory of virtual experiments, design principles to virtual experiments system development, development techniques, standards and norms, etc.This thesis is a survey-based strategy research, which aims at exploring some developmental approaches on the basis of investigation to the authentic picture of virtual experiments development and current situation in this domain in colleges and universities in Gansu Province, to build up virtual experiments and to facilitate the scientific research and application of experiments instruction. In order to fully demonstrate the need to develop virtual experiments, one questionnaire,"the survey of the status quo of experimental teaching in colleges and universities of Gansu Province" is established to investigate seven colleges and universities, which have better teaching conditions and are just typical representatives in Gansu Province. The statistical analysis of survey results gives a strong proof of the urgent need to build virtual experiment in colleges and universities of Gansu Province, to promote the development of experimental teaching. It also fully demonstrates the feasibility of the virtual experiment from the technical support, talents ensurance, and the basis of experience. Lastly, conclusion arrives at that colleges and universities in Gansu Province can develop virtual experiment completely.On the basis of fully affirming the need to develop virtual experiments, the thesis investigates the status quo of virtual experiments construction in the colleges and universities of Gansu Province, employing the method of questionnaire investigation. The results of the statistical analysis show that the construction of virtual experiment in colleges and universities of Gansu Province cannot be optimistic, even almost in a vacuum. To this end, this thesis puts forward some suggestion on how to develop virtual experiments in colleges and universities of Gansu Province in the light of demonstration and survey analysis discussed above. |
