The production scale transition from open-pit to underground is a key problemwhich affects the overall development. Whether it is reasonable or not will make long-term sense to the economic benefit of mines and mine life.The existing resource of Miaogou Iron is less, so preparing transitional work timelyis needed during transition period. Considering exploitation present situation of mine andadopting research method combined data mining with research theoretical analysis, threedimensional productivity analysis platforms were established based on the deep andanalysis of mining condition. The production scale optimization factors of the transitionwere determined and the production scale was optimized based on the fuzzy evaluationtheory finally.1) The systematic analysis of mine geological condition, geological characteristicswas finished through site investigation. Combining mining hydrology and environmentand engineering geology, the mining technical condition was analyzed. Mechanicalcharacteristics of the open-air rock engineering, slope characters were summarized.2) Capacity analysis platform of the underground mining transferred from open-pitwas built by3D mine software. Attainable resources in transition of different realmwithin the open were analyzed. Based on stable transition, Miaogou Iron was divided intostrip mining region, underground mining region and transition region. Mining schemesincluding the end of strip mining, the first coalface of underground mining and the firstcoalface of the transition were separately made. Time and space nodes of transition werereasonably determined.6different production capacity plans in transition were made.3) The evaluation index and set of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation is determined.Weight confirmed by relevant experts. Optimal in Miaogou Iron production scale schemewas determined by fuzzy arithmetic. Through analysis and calculation, the capacityoptimized result of Miaogou Iron transitional period is2450000T.
