| The increasing development of human society has led to serious problems, suchas industrial wastewater, which contains a lot of complex and refractory composition. The conventional wastewater treatment methods include physical sedimentation, chemical decomposition and biological degradation. However, some problems suchas incomplete degradation, secondary pollution, high energy consumption and highcost need to be urgently solved. Much attention has been drawn to TiO2in the pastdecades due to its structural stability, high photocatalysis and non-toxic. Two of mostfocused modification to enhance its photocatalysis are non-noble metal ion dopingand noble metal deposition. There is little research on non-noble metal deposition toenhance the photocatalysis of TiO2.In this work, oblique TiO2nanowire arrays were firstly prepared by magnetronsputtering and subsequent annealing in O2. Then the as-deposited TiO2films weremodified with Cu and Fe ions on the surface by assisted Kaufman ion gun. Finally themodified TiO2films were characterized by SEM, XRD, XPS and XRF and the effectof Cu and Fe deposition on TiO2photocatalysis was discussed. The results show thatthe Cu and Fe layer deposited on the surface of TiO2films was amorphous. Thedeposited Cu enhanced the TiO2photocatalysis under UV light significantly due toinduced Schottky barrier and Ti(III) defect. The deposited Fe shows littleimprovement on TiO2photocatalysis under both UV light and visible light. |
