Nanofiber has a larger specific surface area compared to traditional type of materials, which makes it better performance, special physical and chemical catalyst effects and bright application prospect in the fields of biomedical, aerospace, sensor, etc. As the preparation methods of nanofiber, electrospinning is widely used for its continuity, fast speed, simplicity, and so on.In this thesis, PANI nanofiber was prepared by electrospinning. The effects of PEO’s concentration, voltage, and deposition distance on PANI’s electrospinning were analyzed with different control parameters. Meanwhile, nanofiber’s receiving directly and receiving with a roller were studied and the results of them were compared, in order to explore the relationship the speed of the roller and nanofiber’s morphology coherence. After that, we designed orthogonal experiments and obtained the effect weight of the three parameters above for PANI’s electrospinning to get the optimum parameters. The results showed that we could receive the thinnest PANI nanofiber diameter nearly to 100nm under the experimental conditions of PEO’s concentration of 0.5wt%,20kV, deposition distance of 20cm.Gas sensor was made under the selected optimum parameters and its gas sensitivity was investigated in various concentration gradients of NH3. It was found that the response of the sensor was excellent and varied with the concentration ofNH3, the higher concentration of NH3, the higher sensitivity of the sensor. The PANI nanofiber sensor realized rapid detection at normal temperature and was sensitive to low concentration of NH3, which overcame the traditional metal oxide sensor’s defect of high working temperature. Furthermore, it’s such low power dissipation that lay a foundation for the micromation, remoting, intellectualization of gas sensor.
