Entrained flow gasification technology has characteristics of high pressure, high temperature and large-scale installation, which also has the good economic and social benefits, and represents the trend of clean coal technology. Opposed four burners coal-water slurry gasification technology is the National High Technology Research and Development Program ("863" Program) of China undertaken by East China University of Science and Technology and Yanzhou Mining Group. The technology has reached the international advanced level in the effective gas composition, carbon conversion rate, oxygen consumption, coal consumption and other economic and technical indicators.The first large demonstration device of opposed four burners coal-water slurry gasification technology is built and succeeds in the first feeding on July 21,2005 in Yankuang Cathay Coal Chemicals Co. Ltd., and in the same year on October 15, the gasification device formally put into trial operation. Through the joint efforts of the company technical personnel and experts of the East China University of Science and Technology, the operation cycle of the device contunously gets breakthroughs. The crown bricks of the gasifier has exceeded 15000 hours, and the burner life is controllable, the longest service life has reached 150 days. With the contunious increase of device operation cycle, the achievements of feeding with pressure and gasifier changing with no fluctuation are explored, which make the superiority of the opposed four burners coal-water slurry gasification technology more prominent.The present paper have summarized the operation experience of the opposed four burners coal-water slurry gasification based on the 9 years of operation in our company. To provide certain reference significance for further development of the device, the appeared engineering problems are analyzed, and the optimization methods are also evaluated.
