With the rapid development of coordination chemistry and supramolecular chemistry, creating new substance and materials have been opened a new development space. Recently, the design and synthesis of new funtional coordination ploymers with variety structures have become a hot topic. This paper chooses different sulfonic and carboxylic acid ligands, aims at constructing metal organic coordination polymers with excellent luminescence properties and high thermal stabilities. Seventeen coordination polymers with terpyridine derivatives ligands have been successfully synthetized, and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses, IR, elemental analysis, luminescence spectra and TGA. The dissertation includes four chapters.Chapter 1:The concepts of coordination chemistry, supramolecular chemistry and coordination polymer are simply introduced. The synthesis and structure diversities of coordination polymers have been presented. And comments on the research progress of terpyridine and sulfonic metal organic coordination polymers.Chapter 2:Eight new compounds (1-8) with transition metal (Ag+, Cd2+, Zn2+, Mn2+, Cu2+) constructed by H2tbds and 2,2’-bipy have been hydrothermally synthesized. Compounds 1 and 3 show 2D and 3D networks,4 is a two-fold 3D framework,2 and 5-8 are OD which are further extended into a 3D framework through the hydrogen bonds. In comparisons of the effect of pH, auxiliary ligand and metal ion on compounds structures, indicated these three factors play a significant role for structure construction. The luminescence and TGA properties of the compounds have been studied.Chapter 3:Compounds 9-15 were synthesized by the reactions of transition and lanthanides metal ions with Hcptpy and different organic dicarboxylic acids ligands under different pH and solvents. All compounds show OD and 2D structures. The luminescence and TGA properties of the compounds have been investigated. For compound 10, the magnetism property has been studied.Chapter 4:We have hydrothermally synthesized two novel Zn(II) coordination ploymers (16-17) based on 4-Hcmopt and 3-Hcmopt ligands, respectively. They are different fold of 3D topology nets. The different between 16 and 17 demonstrate that the different coordination sites of ligands have imporant effects on the structure of compounds. Moreover, they show strong luminescence properties and high thermal stability.
