This paper studies the sedimentation performance of houshold biomass waste and anaerobic digestion performance of related layered materials. The experiment found that the optimal control concentration of TS is not same for the different types’of the biomass waste,. The best controlling concentration of TS of the for the slurry of the biomass waste for the five single component from of the vegetables, fruit chip, bone and crab, leftovers and nutshell were about 5%,8%,12%,15% and 18%,,respectively. Their VS of the upper suspended material was higher than underlying sediment about that after completely settling settlement. The apparent settlement range of the best controlling the concentration of TS for the slurry of the mixed biomass waste was about 6.44%-8.28%. The experiments showed that the differences of the TS between the three layers in upper, middle and bottom were greater, the better settling result will become. In this TS concentration range after settling stratified, the VS of the upper layer, middle layer and bottom layer accounted about 43.59%-51.20%,12.95%~16.05%,34.30%~43.1% of the total volatile solids, respectively. The VS of upper suspension was higher than that of the middle and lower layer. The batch test of the anaerobic digestion were carred out under the organic load about 0.5 gVS/(L·d) and 0.75 gVS/(L·d) for the upper suspensions and the bottom sediment of the mixed biomass waste slurry. The data showed that:the anaerobic digestion process was stable until the end of the experiment. The percentage of the acidified hydrolysis of upper suspended material was relatively higher than the underlying sediment; The performance of the gas pructiopn of the upper suspended material superiored to the underlying sediment. That means that the biodegradable or easily degradable biomass in suspension layer was higher than the sedimentation layer. This conclusion was consistent with one of the aforementioned sedimentation experiment, which the VS of the suspended layer was higher than about that of the sedimentation layer.
