A positively charged composite nanofiltration membrane (HTCC/PES) was prepared by using 2-Hydroxypropyltrimethyl ammonium chloride chitosan (HTCC) as the selective layer, PES UF membrane as support layer and epichlorohydrin (ECH) as cross-linking reagent; Then, the silver containing antibacterial membrane (HTCC-Ag/PES) was prepared by membrane surface photochemical reduction technique; The prepared HTCC was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR),1H-NMR spectroscopy; By scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy(AFM) to observe the HTCC/PES membrane and HTCC-Ag/PES membrane surface structure; By UV-visible absorption spectroscopy、 XPS analysis、XRD ray pattern analysis techniques to characterize the existence of silver particles; The best amount of silver and silver ion adsorption time in HTCC/PES membrane surface was tested; The pure water permeability、 molecular-weight cut-off(MWCO)、rejection performance and antibacterial property of the HTCC-Ag/PES membrane were also tested.The results indicated that the active amino groups of CTS were partly substituted by quaternary ammonium groups. A uniform dense nanofiltration surface layer of HTCC was formed on the PES base membrane; silver particles were produced indeed in the experiment; The membrane surface roughness(RMS) is 68.0nm of HTCC-Ag/PES membrane; The anti-pollution ability、silver dispersion of HTCC-Ag/PES membrane are well; The optimal conditions for HTCC-Ag/PES preparation:concentration of AgNO3 solution is 0.5mmol/L,The adsorption time of silver ions in the HTCC/PES composite membrane surface is about 30min; The adsorption time of silver ions in HTCC/PES membrane surface is about 30min; There is not significant difference between HTCC/PES and HTCC-Ag/PES composite membrane on the pure water permeability、retention of PPCPs, the antibacterial properties of HTCC-Ag/PES is higher than HTCC/PES membrane; As such, using the method to improve antimicrobial properties of HTCC/PES composite nanofiltration membrane is feasible.
