Recently, in order to improve the diesel engine performance, we need to increase the engine speed and engine internal pressure, which requires the cylinder-piston ring friction is able to work understand greater heat load and greater mechanical losses. Meanwhile, we hope increase the life of diesel engines, improve its economic and stability. Therefore, it is important of improve cylinder-piston ring friction and wear properties. This thesis used a low coefficient of friction, high hardness, wear resistance of TiC, CrC, AlTiN, ZrN, CrN, CrMoN different coated cylinder liner and PVD coating piston ring at a temperature of 150℃ for 20Mpa、30MPa、40MPa、50MPa、60MPa of friction and wear test, the conclusion is as follows:1. AlTiN coated cylinder liner has poor matching with PVD chromium nitride piston rings;2. The others coatings, with the load increases, the friction coefficient of the various materials coated cylinder liner and PVD chromium nitride piston ring all are presented rising curve between 20MPa-30MPa,30MPa-50MPa downward,50MPa-60MPa rising trend, and CrC coating has the minimum friction coefficient;3. Wear comparison from worse to better is ZrN coatings< TiC and CrN coatings <CrC and CrMoN coatings;4. The amount of PVD piston ring wear ascending order is CrC coating<ZrN coating<CrN coating<CrMoN coating<TiC coating by 60MPa load liner surface observations;5. CrC coating has the best friction and wear properties.
