In recent years,more and more energy which was based on by human survival and social progress was demanded with the development of technology. In order to solve the problem of shortage of non-renewable energy and more and more demand for energy, an increasing number of people began to study energy-saving and development of new energy. Thermal energy storage systems received high attention together with the others. As a typical phase change thermal storage material, phase change materials microcapsules attracted more and more attention which were composed of the core materials which usually were phase change materials used for thermal storage and heat and the wall materials. Paraffin which was a kind of common core material had many advantages, such as the phase transition temperature could be selected according to specific needs, the capacity of heating storage was good, variety of sources was wide, prices was low and so on. Wall material mainly play a role in amorphous and protection. This paper focused on emulsification and conform of paraffin as well as the applications of the phase change material microcapsules in the field of textile. We found three kind of complex emulsifier by lots of emulsified experiments, which were OP-7 and OP-10 complex system, Span 60 and Tween 80 complex system and OS-15 and Span40 complex system. OP-7 and OP-10 has a good effect on wax by comparing the experimental results. However, due to the environmental problems of OP series emulsifiers Span 60 and Tween 80 were chosen as the final choice.Coated that was with sodium silicate and TEOS as a source of silica of paraffin were studied by the method of sol- gel and which was with urea and formaldehyde as raw of paraffin were studied by the method of situ polymerization. By observing and analyzing the morphology of the microcapsule, particle size, thermal stability and other indicators, the conclusion was as followed: like with urea-formaldehyde resin, paraffin can be coated by urea-formaldehyde resin,what is more thermal performance of coated paraffin was substantially not changed.Applications of paraffin phase change material microcapsules in the field of in textile were researched with the coating method and padding method. Through a series of analysis on hydrophilic property, washable property and breaking strength of fabric, the conclusions were as follows: performance such as breaking strength, hydrophilic property and washable property of textiles changed because of the adjunction of paraffin phase change material microcapsules whether using the method of coating or padding. These properties of the fabric changed as follows: breaking strength increased, hydrophilic property became lower, washable property was best when phase change material microcapsules which chose sodium silicate as the wall material.
