Total Synthesis Of Pariphyllin-A,B,D,E And Asiaticoside

Diosgenin glycoside pariphyllin-B is extracted from herb Paris polyphylla. It shows anti-inflammatory and antineoplastic activities along with the antipyretic and detumescent efficacy. Thus it is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine. Natural product triterpenoid glycoside Asiaticoside which is extracted from the herb Centella asiatica L. has shown remarkable curative effect for wound repair, especially for injury, surgical trauma and empyrosis. Ointments containing Centella asiatica have been reported to be applied to cure skin diseases. In order to study their biological activities, we synthesized the sugar moiety of pariphylin-B with high efficiency and tried to synthesize Asiaticoside for the first time.
