Because of special performance, products of narrow size particle are widely used. In order to meet the wide needs of products o f narrow size part icle, so lving the problem of preparation of products of narrow size particle is part icularly important. The key po ints of preparat ion of products o f narrow size p article using classifier are classificat ion performance of classifier and preparat ion technology. On the basis of studing classificat ion characterist ics of classifier by numerical simulat ion in this paper, the parameters of the classifier are changed to improve the classificat ion performance o f classifier. Two classifiers are used for preparat ion of products of narrow size part icle and the influence of process parameters on products o f narrow size particle are studied.The defects that are showed by the gas phase characterist ics of classifier in the flow field as fo llow: there are vortexs between blades when parameters do not match; refluxs intensify between blades when rotat ion speed varies; the second classificat ion performance is too weak because velocit y in cone is too low weak; energy loss is serious because turbulence in spiral cases is strong and the height o f the rotor cage is unreasonable.In order to improve classificat ion performance, the parameters o f process and structural on the classifier are optimized. For process parameters, the classifier parameters are reasonably matched. For structural parameters, the blade structure, lower cone, vo lute and height of rotor cage are opt imized. Co mpared with classifiers that are not improved, the improv ed flow field o f classifier is more stable, simulation curves of classification efficiency are more closer with theory curve.On the basis o f two t imes classification, products of narrow size part icle can be prepared by adjust ing the rotational speed of the two classifiers. By increasing or decreasing rotation speed at the same t ime, average part icle size of products o f narrow size part icle increases or decreases on the condit ion o f keeping rather narrow particle size distribut ion.The particle size distr ibut ion o f products of narrow size part icle is decided by rotat ion speed difference o f the first and second classifiers when wind speed is constant. Wit h rotat ion speed difference decreasing, curve of part icle size distribut ion beco mes narrower. The second wind speed is of great significance to improve the size distribut ion o f products o f narrow size part icle. With the second wind speed increasing, part icle size distribut ion curves o f heavy calcium carbonate and raw cement beco me narrower, particle size distribut ion curve of raw cement is more narrower by heavy calciu m carbonate’s.
