Vanadium, as an important strategic resource, has been widely used in metal smelt ing and processing, chemical, aerospace, etc. Stone coal is the main source of vanadium in C hina. The methods extracting vanadium fro m stone coal have sodium salt roasting extraction process, calc ified roast ing extraction process, no-salt roasting extraction process, many salts roasting extraction process, and direct acid leaching process, etc. Sodium salt roasting extractio n process due to the high pollut ion and litt le metal recovery in recent years has been limited. O ther processes have developed in environmental protection and metal recovery, but still have the adaptability, low leaching rate of vanadium. In this paper, combining the strengths of v extraction process, to improve the exist ing process, put forward the stone coal sulphation roasting- ultrasonic leaching vanadium process. This process can effective ly improve the leaching rate of vanadium, shorten the process cycle.The experiment was based on the stone coal somewhere in Hunan province as the research object. Analys is showed that through phase and composit ion, stone coal ore ma inly in quartz and pyr ite, calc ite, etc. And found no independent minerals of vanadium. A mong the m the content of V2O5 is low, at 0.89%. Si, Al and Fe impur ity content and reducing materia l such as C, S content was higher.Mainly for vanadium leaching is a key link of the sulfating roasting test and ultrasonic leaching experiment research. And the main parameters affecting the test such as roasting temperature, dosage of sulfur ic acid, ultrasonic power and liquid- solid ratio were analyzed. The results showed that, Stone coal sulphation roasting better test condit ion was that roasting tempera ture was 250 ℃, roasting time was 1.5 h, the dosage of sulfur ic acid was 25%. Stone coal is the better experimental condit ions of ultrasonic leaching ultrasonic temperature was 80 ℃, ultrasonic time was 70 min, ultrasonic power was 100 W, choice of leaching liquid- solid ratio 2.0 ml/ g, the dosage of sulfur ic acid was 20%, the leaching rate of vanadium could reach 88.1%. Through comparative tests showed that leaching rate of vanadium from the sulfating roasting- ultrasonic leaching process was higher than the leaching rate of vanadium from sulphating roasting- mechanical agitation leaching and calc ium roasting- ultrasonic leaching. Cavitat ion effect was generated formed in the mixture of sulfur ic acid solut ion under the action of ultrasonic wave. It not only can change the state of aggregation of vanadium, and increases the diffusion and dissolut ion rate of vanadium.Based on the stone coal sulphation roasting- ultrasonic extraction, enrichment of vanadium and preparation of a preliminary was attempted. The results show that due to the extraction process of A l and Fe impur ity ion extraction of vanadium pentoxide from incomplete caused by the qualit y test of content was low.
