Bimetal tube is a new type tube which is made of two different metal materials. With the corrosion resistance requirements improved, it plays a more and more important role in petroleum, chemical, food, medical, construction, nuclear industry and other fields, especially in the fluid delivery, heat exchange and use for equipment.Lots of work has been done on the research in the manufacturing process of the clad tube in the past. However, the study of clad tube application, particularly the heat transfer performance is infrequent. Based on the 10/316 carbon steel and stainless steel bimetal heat exchange tube which is produced by brazing and cold drawing, the research in preparation techniques and heat transfer performance of the clad tube has been done. The main contents and results are as follows:(1) Carbon steel and stainless steel bimetal heat exchange tube is produced by brazing and cold drawing in order to improve the manufacturing process of composite pipe;(2) By means of mechanical properties test and flattening test, the mechanical properties as yield strength, tensile strength and elongation are found;(3) With the using of tube heat exchanger, the experiment on the heat transfer performance of the clad tube was done. Comparing the clad tube and the 316 stainless steel tube, heat transfer performance of the former is better than that of the later.After all, the research in this paper, namely the study on the clad tube manufacture, the mechanical properties test and the heat transfer performance test, provides certain theoretical basis for commercial production of the bimetal clad tubes.
