Rock desertification is one of the three major "stubborn" problems of ecological environment in China and it’s also the most difficult natural disaster in the karts areas of Southwest China. Rock desertification seriously restricted the local social and economic development. It always occur in the Fragile ecological environment and difficult to be harnessed. Huaying is one of experimental unit of Karst Rock desertification area in Sichuan Province, and it’s also the typical representative of Sichuan Karts area. Its problem has been highly minded by the provincial government. A large range and high-precision monitoring of Karat area of Huaying by the terms of RS. Processing those images of RS by ERDAS8.6 and Investigating on the multiple Rock desertification map spots. Monitoring data accuracy and correct it. Providing data support for monitoring Karst area of Huaying. And based on this, the local Rock desertification information has been extracted to analyze the reason of Rock desertification information.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:1. The land utilization structure of Huaying is unreasonable. On the whole, although the majority of land is forest,fragile local ecological environment, man-made destruction and increasing of other properties of land cause the decreasing of forest and the increasing of wasteland.2. The Rock desertification of Huaying is complex. Most land are moderate Rock desertification land and mild Rock desertification land. What’s worse, the situation become worse because of high-strength Mineral development and industrial production. The soil fertility loss in Rock desertification regions is also serious and the scattered spots gradually become contiguous band.3. Rock desertification in Huaying is the result of combined influencesfrom multiple factors. The long- slope terrain, easily-corroded rocks and frequent washing by seasonal heavy rainfall have added to the difficulty in local water and soil conservation. In addition, other irrational human factors like slope cultivation, excessive wood chopping, unreasonable development and construction, improper business mode, etc, also result in the worsening Rock desertification in Huaying.
