The use of many parts of bulldozers, excavators and other engineering machinery are steel castings. These are mostly bearing pressure casting, casting requirements of compact structure, stable size, high strength and hardness. At present, this kind of casting defects, often have holes, sand holes, cracks, shrinkage hole (porosity) etc. Among them, the shrinkage hole (porosity) defect regularity is more obvious. The shrinkage hole (porosity) defects occurred mainly in the early trial of new products, in the amount of the product in the production process will be because of improper operation or other factors change from time to time. The lighter will increase repair, inspection cost, and heavy lead casting scrap. The shrinkage hole (porosity) appears will increase production costs; reduce the competitiveness of foundry enterprises.This paper combines the actual production process of foundry enterprises, how to eliminate the casting shrinkage hole (porosity) defects were studied. This paper combined with the liquid metal filling ability, casting solidification, shrinkage of the casting theory, an engineering machinery accessories bracket as examples of the traditional design process of steel castings. But the use of the process, the product has appeared shrinkage (loose) defect. According to the shrinkage hole (porosity) defects, analyzes the cause of defect formation, develop improvement strategies, using Interact CAE simulated, verified by practical production, the eventual elimination of the defect, and improve the experience according to the shortcomings of the traditional design process, put forward some improvement ideas and methods of design.Secondly, in order to verify these design methods and ideas of the effectiveness and portability,3 products in the shrinkage hole (porosity) defect improvement process for the application, to prove their effectiveness.Casting shrinkage hole (porosity) defects, not only has a relationship with the process design, production process control is also the shrinkage hole (porosity) defect factors. In this paper, according to the actual casting products production process, from the aspects of modeling, core making, melting, pouring and analysis the method to avoid the shrinkage hole (porosity) method of the defect.Through the traditional process design, examples of shrinkage hole (porosity) analysis of defect control improvement, verify the improvement ideas and methods and the process of actual production, this paper summarizes some of the elimination of casting shrinkage defects (loose) method. We hope to solve the shrinkage of casting workers in the production process of defects (loose) help.
