With the development of science and technology, metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) has attracted great attention not only for their intriguing structuraltopologies but also for their potential applications. As functional materials,metal-organic frameworks have excellent development prospect in these fields, suchas gas sorption, luminescent and catalysis. So, how to rational design and synthesisof the novel MOFs has become the hotest topic in the field of materials. In this paper,three compounds were separated synthesized using Zn(II)/Cd(II) and flexiblearomatic carboxylic acid ligands on solvothermal technique. And characterized bysingle crystal X-ray diffractions, elemental analyses, XRPD and TG, we also havestudied and discussed the properties of the compounds on luminescence andcatlysis.In the first chapter, the concept and the newest research progress of thecoordination polymer have be mainly introduced. Meanwhile, we describe the topicsignificance and the current research of our group.In the second chapter, two new metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) with theformulas, [(CH3)2NH2]2[Zn2(L)2](1) and [(CH3)2NH2]2[Cd2(L)2]·6H2O(2)(H3L =5-(5-carboxypyridin-3-yl)benzene-1,3-dicarboxylic acid), have been synthesizedunder solvothermal conditions. Complexes 1 and 2 feature 3D non-interpenetratingnetworks with the Pt S topology. The extraordinary structural features of 1 and 2 arethat there exist open channels. The luminescent properties of the complexes 1 and 2display strong fluorescent emissionin the solid state and methanol suspension at thevisible region. Meanwhile, the catalytic properties of the complexes 1 and 2 have bestudiedIn the third chapter, A new 3D metal-organic framework with a(3,3,4)-connected net, [Cd2L(DMF)3]·0.5DMF.1.5H2O(3)(L = 2,3′,4,5′-biphenyltetracarboxylic acid), has been synthesized via a solvothermal method using aflexible tetracarboxylic as ligand. Complex 3 can be formed from(3,3,4)-connected3-nodal topological net with the point symbol of(6.82)(62.83.10)(62.8). And itsluminescence properties were also studied.In the last chapter, the topology structurel type and the properties and structureof coordination polymers have be summarized.
