Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) materials perform intriguing topological structures and superior properties than conventional organic and inorganic polymer, providing great potential for the fields of gas absorption, separation and storage, as well as magnetic and photochemistry materials. To employ the advisably designing and synthetic strategies is the critical step for the controllable preparation of MOFs. The researchers have paid considerable attention for the MOFs derived from flexible polycarboxylic acids due to the fascinating architecture and functionality.Based on the consideration above, three novel Cd(Ⅱ)-based MOFs, {[Cd2(CTA)(bpea)(H2O)3](H2O)5}(1),{[Cd2(CTA)(bpe)15(H2O)2](H2O)7}(2),{[Cd2(CTA)(bpp)2 (H:O)2](H2O)3}(3), have been successfully constructed by the cyclohexane-1,2,4,5-tetracarboxylic acid (H4CTA) with flexible conformation and three pyridyl derivatives as mixed-ligands in hydrothermal condition. The structures of title compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra, X-ray single crystal and powder diffraction in detail. The results indicate that three different coligands lead to diverse 3D structural frameworks in the three compounds. Although CTA ligand presents uniform a,e,e,a conformation in compounds 1-3, the carboxyl groups indicate various coordination modes and the Cd(Ⅱ) ions show different coordination geometries. The bpea and bpe ligands possess one kind of conformation in 1 and 2, whereas bpp diplays two conformations including a rare semi-nested mode, and the main framework of compound 3 is filled by a discrete (H2O)6 clusters. Topological investigations have been applied on the structural analyses of three compounds. Thermogravimetric analysis demonstrates that 1-3 represent good thermostability. In addition, three compounds exhibit purple emission in the solid state at room-temperature.The present works not only promote the investigations of flexible polycarboxylic coordination polymers, but also furnish the practical experiences for exploring the constructed strategies of MOFs. Three compounds suggest favorable luminescence properties, which probably would be considered as fluorescence probes to apply to the field of biosensor.
