The thesis mainly focused on the synthesis, catalytic and antitumor activity of a series of titanium complexes supported by several imidazole-containing ligands. It’s composed of following three parts.Firstly, the imidazole-containing pyrrolyl ligand HL(HL =3-(1H-pyrrol-2-yl)imidazo[1,5-a]pyridine) is designed and four novel titanium complexes[Ti(L)2(NMe2)2 ](1),[Ti(L)2(NEt2)2](2),[Ti(L)2(Oi Pr)2](3) and [Ti(L)(Nt Bu)(Py)2Cl]·Tol(4) were synthesized. The complexes 1-4 were characterized by NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The complexes 2, 3 and 4 were determined by X-ray diffraction and elemental analysis. They were mononuclear complexes.Secondly, the hydroamination reactions of alkynes catalyzed by 1 and 2 were investigated. It is noteworthy that both 1 and 2 could catalyze the hydroamination of1-hexyne and 1-octyne. The behavior of complexes 1, 2 and 3 toward ring-opening polymerization of ε-caprolactone was also investigated. Complex 1 exhibited good catalytic activity for ring-opening polymerization of ε-caprolactone. It was found that 3showed low activity for the polymerization.Thirdly, antitumor activities of the titanium complexes 3, and 5-9(C32H32N4O4Ti(5),C26H28N8O2Ti(6), C32H30N6O6Ti(7), C36H36N4O8Ti(8), C22H26N6O2Ti(9))were studied. The cytotoxicity activities of 3 towards the tumor cells HCT-116, PC-3 and MCF-7 were measured. Complex 3 exhibited good antitumor properties.
